Growth Mindset and Math Instruction

Math instruction expert Jo Boaler, who is also professor at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Education and cofounder of YouCubed, writes for Atlantic Monthly about the role of growth mindset in revising how math is taught and approached in classrooms. She argues that teaching and fostering exploration and connection between math concepts with less focus on rapid fire questions and correct answers will ultimately improve student perceptions of their math abilities.
