Join us for a webinar designed for independent school educators, focusing on supporting bright students who face executive function (EF) challenges in a rigorous academic environment. This session will provide an overview of EF, illustrating the diverse needs of high school students through case studies.

Our experts, Margot Marcou, Lead Faculty for Landmark Outreach, and Brigitta Allen, Director of the Learning Center at Governor’s Academy, will share practical strategies and real-world applications to help you create a path to success for all students. The presenters will model the importance of breaking down language-heavy directions, implementing effective planning techniques, and building a continuum of support for students across grade levels.

Case studies will highlight high school students, but content is appropriate for educators of middle school and college-level students, too.

About the Instructors

Brigitta Allen

Brigitta Allen earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Wheaton College and her Master of Science in Education from Simmons College. She holds Massachusetts Certification in Special Education for grades 5-12, specializing in students with moderate special needs. Brigitta began her career at Landmark High School, where she dedicated a decade to teaching English Language Arts (ELA) tutorials and study skills. For the past 16 years, Brigitta has served as the Learning Specialist and Director of the Learning Center at The Governor's Academy. In this role, she has been instrumental in developing and overseeing academic support programs tailored to individual student needs. Brigitta also serves as the faculty advisor for the peer tutoring program, guiding students in leadership and collaborative learning. In addition, she is an academic advisor, helping students navigate their academic journeys, and is deeply involved in campus life as a dorm parent, living on campus with her family.

Margot Marcou

Margot Marcou has been at Landmark School since 2010. She currently works as a part-time consultant for Landmark Outreach. Previously, she served as Assistant Director, Lead Teacher, and classroom teacher in the Prep Program at the High School. From 2016-2023, Margot was also the Director of the Skills+ Summer Program, which focused on teaching study skills to middle and high school students. In 2023, Margot founded Margot Marcou Coaching LLC, working with college students to provide executive function coaching.
