COURSE DESCRIPTION

Content is only as rich as the delivery method used to integrate it. When effective tools and strategies are implemented to make a lesson “jump off the page,” it can promote discovery, engagement, and much more. This virtual 1-day workshop will help educators to plan instruction through a progressive, structured approach that includes a healthy balance between routine and variety, as well as activities that focus on visual aesthetics. If those efforts can help students access all of their learning modalities with both paper materials and electronic resources, then other elements (behavior, participation, metacognition, etc.) can also fall into place to encourage students to be a part of the learning process.

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

  • Incorporate appropriate use of color, structure, and balance for both paper and electronic activities
  • Determine how context and background information can lay the groundwork and promote more curiosity when new units are introduced
  • Establish a consistent structure that will assist with lesson planning
  • Investigate and hopefully implement various apps within the Google Suite

About the Instructor

Kyle Clark, M.S.Ed.

He earned a bachelor of science degree from the University of Vermont and a master’s degree in special education from Simmons University. Kyle is currently a member of the language arts department and teaches writing to upperclassmen, as well a film and literature class, which is one of his passions.
