This two-day seminar will provide educators with the opportunity to further their knowledge of educational technology, more specifically the Google Suite for Education, recently renamed the Google Workspace for Education. Educators will explore a variety of tools within Google Workspace ⎼ tools that can improve their own time management and lesson planning, as well as increase student engagement. Topics covered will include Landmark School’s approach to educational technology in the context of remediation, tips and strategies for how to optimize time when lesson planning within Google Workspace, resources and strategies for how to support students’ management of their online and physical materials, and explorations of Google Classroom, Drawings, Drive, Jamboard, Slides, and more.

The primary focus of this seminar is educational technology, not assistive technology. Also, this seminar is applicable for participants who use the Google Workspace for Education. Alternative Learning Management Systems (LMS) will not specifically be addressed.
This seminar is most appropriate for educators at the middle and high school levels who self-identify as novice or early intermediate in their use of the Google Suite.
Please bring a laptop, as all necessary materials will be shared electronically.

Kate teaches a variety of language arts and study skills courses at Landmark High School. She also serves as a grant writer for Landmark Outreach, as well as the Director of School Partnerships and Consultation. In addition, for Outreach, Kate has provided professional development workshops for public and independent schools, served as interim director of the annual Summer Institute, developed and taught 1-day and 2-day courses during the Summer Institute, as well as developed and taught online courses for Landmark Outreach Online. Kate holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Richmond, a master’s of public administration from New York University, and a master’s degree in special education from Simmons University.
