The Simple View of Reading defines reading as the product of word recognition and listening comprehension and identifies three subgroups of poor readers on the basis of their strengths and weaknesses in one or both areas: dyslexia, developmental language disorder, and mixed disability. This webinar will discuss subtypes of reading disability, implications for assessment and intervention, and current directions to improve the translation of research evidence into school practices.



This course is appropriate for educators at all levels.

About the Instructor

Rouzana Komesidou, PhD

Rouzana Komesidou is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at MGH Institute of Health Professions and project director at the Speech and Language (SAiL) Literacy Lab. Dr. Komesidou studies how to use implementation science to promote uptake of evidence-based programs into school practice to improve literacy achievement.
