Understand the crucial link between strategies for metacognition, improved reading comprehension, and vocabulary acquisition in this study featured on Reading Rockets. The study highlights the importance of extending explicit, systematic, and research based instruction beyond the basics of reading to reading comprehension. It focused on metacognitive strategies to help students think about their thinking while reading as a way for them to monitor their own comprehension and dynamic vocabulary development.
