Webinar Description

Spelling is a frequently overlooked but vitally important literacy skill with connections to both reading and writing. It is also frequently a struggle for students with specific learning disabilities (SLD), such as dyslexia. This webinar will focus on how to plan and implement a spelling lesson for students with spelling weaknesses. Viewers will learn about a basic lesson plan format that provides practice in the skills needed for spelling at various levels of complexity (e.g., letter-sound, word, sentence, text). Participants will also learn ways to tailor this lesson plan format to provide individualized instruction for students making different types of spelling errors (e.g., phonological, orthographic, morphological).
