This one-day workshop equips educators with the knowledge and tools to effectively teach process writing in their classrooms. Participants will learn a systematic approach to guide students through brainstorming, organizing, drafting, and refining their writing. Special emphasis will be placed on strategies for addressing diverse learning needs while familiarizing and creating materials and organizers to directly incorporate into the classroom.
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
- Understand the foundational principles of process writing and its importance in developing students’ writing skills
- Learn effective instructional strategies for teaching each stage of the writing process, tailored to students’ diverse needs and abilities
- Explore methods for fostering metacognitive awareness in students to improve their written output, awareness and revision skills
- Gain practical experience in implementing brainstorming techniques, organizing strategies, and scaffolds such as graphic organizers and templates to support students in their writing development
